Scott Is Feeling Good About First Fight

31st Mar 08

Not long to go until Scott Graham's first fight.. everything would appear to be going according to plan.

Super-heavyweight Scott has been in intense training over the last few weeks in preparation for his first ever senior fight.

As you know, Scott is fighting one of the best fighters in the country in Fraser Thirde from Arbroath ABC, who has just become Scottish Championship at this weight.

Scott is pretty upbeat about the fight, and says "I'm confident that I can spring an upset. I've been in intensive training, doing a lot of cardio and sparring. I'm just going to go and try my best, and I believe it is going to go well. I'm feeling fit and ready for it.
I've got a lot of respect for Fraser because he is in the Scotish Finals and could be the Scottish Champion by the time time I face him. It's going to be a test, but I'm up for it and looking forward to it."

Scott is being trained by his dad Scott, and his uncle Rory Thompson at the club on Traill Drive.
They're confident that Scott will more than hold his own against Thirde, but they are not giving anything away about how they intend to approach the fight.

It is hoped that Scott will be an inspiration to the other club members who see themselves as being the future representatives of Montrose Amateur Boxing Club.
