Scott Does Us Proud... But The Judges Didn't Agree....

21st Apr 08
Fiday night at the Sunnybank Social Club was the place to be if you wanted to see a great effort by Scott Graham to win his first senior fight.

Scott started strongly and caught Fraser quickly with a couple of good punches to the body and the head. Most of the first round was about finding out about each other. The second and third rounds however, were all about Scott's intent to win this bout, at the first attempt. Most of the points scored seemed to come from Scott, and by the end of the third round his opponent was bloodied and tired looking.

With all the effort expended by Scott in the first three rounds, it was no surprise that the young Montrose boxer tired in the fourth and final round. This was his first match, and the more experienced boxer came back at him in the last round. Scott managed to hold out without his more experienced opponent landing too many punches, but not landing too many of his own.

To the surprise of the Montrose support, who were convinced that their man had done enough to win the fight, the judges gave the result to the newly crowned Scottish Champion, who was out on his feet and looked totally amazed when the referee lifted his hand at the end.

A good first fight Scott, and with a bit more fitness and more fights it won't be long until you get the results your efforts deserve.

Well Done!
